Conscious CouplesÂ
A Program for Committed Couples Who Want to Build a Love That Lasts
Attend Hybrid: Online weekly class with in-person retreat day
Led by a team of licensed therapists and communication educator
Most couples spend years building life together.
Almost none spend time building the relationship itself.
You know their favorite food. You know their mother's name. You know how they take their coffee. But do you know what your partner is actually afraid of? Do you know how they experience love and whether you're giving it to them in their way? Do you know what to do when stress hits, when communication breaks down, when life gets harder than either of you expected?
Conscious Coupling was built for the couples who want to know.
This is an 5-week experience grounded in three of the most studied frameworks in relationship psychology, designed to give you real self-knowledge, genuine communication skills, and a shared vision for the relationship you're actually choosing to build.
Not hope. Not luck. Not "we'll figure it out later."
We believe the strongest relationships aren't stumbled into, they're grown. The oak you'll lean on in twenty years starts with a seed you plant today. And we'd love to help you plant it.
What This Program Is — and What It Is NOT
This is not couples therapy. You don't need to be in crisis to be here. This program is for couples who are doing well and want to do better — who want to move forward with eyes open and tools ready, not scrambling to repair damage years from now.
This is not a marriage book collecting dust on your shelf. You've probably already read something. Maybe you've both read the same something. Reading about communication and actually being able to do it under pressure — with your specific person, in your specific dynamic — are two very different things. This program is where the reading becomes real.
This is not a checklist of things to do before you take the next step. There's no worksheet you fill out and forget. No box you tick so you can say you did the work. What you build here — the self-awareness, the shared language, the documented vision — is something you'll still be using in year five, year ten, in the seasons you can't anticipate yet.
This is not a religious program. Conscious Coupling is secular and welcoming to all couples regardless of faith tradition, background, or beliefs.
This is not just for one of you. Every framework, every session, every exercise is designed to be equally meaningful for both partners. This is not a program one person drags the other to. It's a program two people choose together.
The Three Pillars
The Conscious Coupling Program weaves together three frameworks, each one offers a different lens on who you are, how you love, and how you relate under pressure so you can overcome challenges united.
Prepare & Enrich
One of the most widely used premarital assessment tools in the world — giving you a research-backed map of your relationship across key domains: communication, conflict resolution, finances, family, values, and more. You'll complete this as soon as the program begins, and your results shape everything that follows.
Attachment Science
How did you each learn to seek love, protection, and connection? You'll get a practical look into why you pursue or pull away, what triggers you, what you're actually afraid of underneath the surface argument. Paired with the Love Languages, this pillar answers not just how you connect but how to give love in a way your partner actually receives. Understanding both changes everything about how you interpret each other's behavior.
Communication for Connection
Tone, timing, content, listening from a place of connection verses alienation. Nonviolent communication gives you a four-part framework — observations, feelings, needs, requests — for speaking and hearing each other with precision and care, especially when it's hard. Two full weeks are devoted to this because learning the skills is one thing; using it in real conflict is another. This is where you'll be turning insight into practice.
What's Included?
- Research-Backed Relationship Assessments:Â Each of you completes three of the most validated tools in relationship research: Prepare & Enrich, Attachment Style assessment, and Five Love Languages profile
- Five Weekly Sessions with Small Cohort: You will learn, practice, and experience three of the most powerful tools in relationship science, each week building on the last
- A Private Session with a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist: Stephanie Burnstein LMFT will review and discuss your assessment results to help you understand what your results actually mean for your relationship: what to lean into, what to pay attention to, what the data is pointing toward before it becomes a pattern
- Relationship Vision Document: At the end of the program, you leave with something you wrote together: a personal signed document that captures your shared values, how you want to communicate, how you want to repair when things go sideways, what you're building toward that you'll leave holding in your hands.
- In-Person Retreat Day Experience: This is where the weekly work culminates together into putting everything into practice. This will be a fun day to connect deeper on your relationship vision and play games that teach you both to navigate conflicts.

You two are a good fit if:
- You're engaged or in serious relationship and want to do the preparation most couples skip (causing disagreements down the road)
- You value personal growth and want your relationship to reflect that
- You want to understand your partner at a deeper level
- You've had some recurring conflicts or patterns you haven't been able to crack and you want tools before they become bigger problems
- You want to walk into your wedding genuinely prepared for the journey ahead, post-honeymoon
This is NOT for you if you're not both fully willing to engage or in an active crisis, which requires therapeutic intervention. Your success in love and life requires two people showing up with honesty and openness.
We're Ready to Join
What if we're not engaged?
Do we need any prior knowledge of these frameworks?
What's the time commitment?
Is this religious?
Can same-sex couples or non-traditional couples join?
The relationship you have today is the foundation for everything that comes next.
The couples who thrive aren't the ones who got lucky — they're the ones who decided to build something intentional, together, before the hard seasons arrived.
Small cohorts. Real depth. Evidence-based frameworks. A team of licensed clinicians who genuinely care about the couples who show up.
If this is the kind of preparation you've been looking for we'd love to have you!
